waiting for that feeling

March 24th, 2013

Oh man, I never thought we’d see this day. Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn performing together. I know they buried their grudge some time ago but seeing them together on stage (singing my favourite Blur song and even sharing the mic!!!) makes it all perfect. I have tears in my eyes and a huge grin on my face.

Rock am Ring moments part 2

June 3rd, 2012

Kasabian played Rock am Ring again on Friday, but I think I liked their 2010 set more. Looked like a perfect sunny afternoon.

Seaside by The Kooks – that one never gets old :)

And that’s where it all started for me – in 2007. I’ve never heard of Travis before but saw their whole set on TV – and after that I was in love :D They had the difficult situation of playing at the same time as Die ├ärzte, but everyone who was there clearly enjoyed it.

Rock am Ring moments

This is from last year’s festival. Coldplay were headlining on Saturday and showed every single person there that they fucking rock. It was raining so hard the entire time (there even was lightning during Fix You – crazy atmosphere) and they played a bunch of then new songs, but the crowd jumped and screamed and sang as loud as they could. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall only had its radio premiere the day before, so no one there knew it – but they recieved it like an old classic.

Editors from 2010. I really liked their set, especially Papillon with all the fire :D

Also from 2010, Muse were headlining for the first time. They didn’t broadcast the whole concert on TV, but I loved every song they showed. Bliss was one of my favourites.

… and the fire that is starting to go out

The video for the next Snow Patrol single premiered yesterday (and I already saw it last week ’cause it leaked somehow, haha)..
It’s so sad and so perfect. How many times can this song break my heart?! Gary crying is more than I can stand… I really want to give him a big hug now.

One day like this a year would see me right

February 14th, 2012

First of all, Valentine’s Day can fuck right off *forever alone*

But I connect one great music related thing with this day so I thought I’d share it here.

Three years ago today I randomly stumbled upon a Youtube video and instantly fell in love with it. Snow Patrol are covering an Elbow song for the Live Lounge on Radio 1. That doesn’t sound too exciting but I can’t remember a song that captivated me this much at first listen. I remember sitting awestruck in front of my computer, thinking “Wow, how beautiful is this”.
Guy Garvey’s lyrics, Garys voice, the string section, Gary conducting :D, everyone singing in canon at the end… turn off the lights and listen for yourself:

I’ve listened to this so many times now in the last three years and it still gives me goosebumps and makes me so happy.

I miss it all, from the love to the lightning

Heartbreakingly beautiful.

this is your life, this is your time

Best music video ever?! =D
I don’t even care for videos that much. But the one for Called Out In The Dark
by Snow Patrol is a masterpiece :D
See for yourself I you haven’t already:

I absolutely love it. Gary seemed to have so much fun, I love the story behind it and the choreography is just awesome. I want someone to make an instruction video. Girls on youtube have done that for Lady Gaga songs, so why not for this one as well :D
At least there’s four making of videos (which are hilarious. God I love Gary Lightbody).

But as much as I enjoy this video, I can’t seem to like the one for the second single, This Isn’t Everything You Are. And that’s the great thing about music videos, if you love them, you can watch them as often as you want to, and if you don’t, then you don’t have to watch them ever again.
