hit me with lightning

June 3rd, 2012

Ellie Goulding also played Rock am Ring two years ago. I heard Starry Eyed before, but it was her festival set that made me fall in love with her music. I remember singing Starry Eyed in the middle of the night on that weekend, haha.

I also love her outfit she wore on stage. Simple but perfect for a festival:

music moments 2010

December 18th, 2011

Wow, fourth Advent Sunday already! Let’s remember some moments from 2010 while it’s still “last year” …
(I know, I wanted to post that last Sunday, but I wasn’t at home.)

Muse covered AC/DC’s Back In Black with Nic Cester from Jet at the Big Day Out festival in Australia. Awesome performance, Matt could finally jump around for a whole song without having to sing =D Great to see them having so much fun together.

Oh look, it’s Muse again :D But wow, how epic is this.
First of all, it’s Glastonbury, the King of all festivals. And was its 40th birthday.
Muse were headlining and that must have been so strange for them, since the last time they headlined Glasto Dom’s father died shortly after their set.
And then U2 had to pull out because Bono had a back surgery and couldn’t perform. So much drama!
But Muse played a mind-blowing set – and they were joined by The Edge for a brilliant cover of U2′s classic anthem Where The Streets Have No Name. I remember watching the whole thing live on the internet and I nearly cried at that. Absolutely love it, from seeing everyone so happy to hearing the song in Matt’s voice.

I can’t believe I haven’t written anything about Ellie Goulding on this blog yet. For me she’s the greatest newcomer of the last few years, I love her.
Last year she recorded a cover of Elton John’s Your Song which was featured in the John Lewis Christmas advert. Love at first listen and love at first sight – beautiful cover, gorgeous video and an awesome advert.
